Davis Entertainment Center
Designed for a client that has an extensive LP record collection, this audio center employs the use of flat and bent laminated planes that form a volume that opens on exquisite hardware to reveal the audio/video components. Veneered in Sapele mahogany on the outside and quarter-sawn maple inside, the three connected cases shift in elevation and plan on a multilevel base of ebonized mahogany. Note the shifting ”frame and panel” veneer on the top.
Lynn Sweet is a staff instructor at the University of Kentucky College of Fine Arts
in the Department of Art’s Studio Area, and the Department of Art’s Fine Arts Institute.
